Spring break is almost here (?!), and that means time for fun outings with the whole family! On Wednesday 19 February at 16:00 you can enjoy a unique experience in the main hall of Paradiso: the family concert Smaakspoken. A musical journey through the seven flavours from the award-winning children's book Smaakspoken . Prepare yourself for a very cheerful afternoon in the famous pop temple!
A taste spectacle in Paradiso
During the family concert Smaakspoken the story comes to life musically. Singer-songwriter Gerson Main composed a unique song for every taste, inspired by the book. Together with a fantastic group of artists he brings the tastes to life:
- Zoe Livay (Umami)
- QUIQUE (Fat)
- Na-Young Jeon (Salt)
- Maarten Heijmans (Bitter)
- Chili 'Dio' Willy (Spicy)
Author Daan Faber accompanies the performance with visuals and stories, bringing the book and the music together in a magical performance. Whether you are young or old, this is a chance to experience Paradiso in a whole new way. Put on your dancing shoes, because standing still is not an option!
About the book taste ghosts: a colorful story full of flavor
The story of Smaakspoken takes you into the life of nine-year-old Puck, who lives with her father above his popular restaurant. Her father is a busy chef, and Puck would love nothing more than to help him in the kitchen. But according to him, you first have to learn what real tasting is.
When Puck shares her grief with her cat, she receives an unexpected visit from the seven Taste Ghosts: Salty, Spicy, Sour, Fat, Umami, Bitter and Sweet. These special characters take her into their worlds and teach her all about their unique powers. Can they help Puck become a true taster and support her father? The story is full of humor, emotion and surprising insights about the flavors that color our lives.
